Chris Smalling has no problem with the competition for places at Manchester United.
He began this season as a makeshift right-back, and the fine form of Jonny Evans since then has seen him largely overlooked at centre-half.
"We get on really well. I actually sit next to him in the changing room. I'm still learning here.
"You have to deliver each week. Long term I see myself as a centre-back, that is where I hope I will play, but I'll play wherever the manager asks me too.
"We had injury worries at the start of the season. "But I'd only ever played centre-back when I joined, and I'm pretty sure that's where they see my future."But Smalling, 22, said: "That just drives you on. The competition makes you raise your game. Jonny's come in and done really well. But I knew he was here when I came.
