Smalling looking for better management and control at Man Utd

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has urged his side to become better at seeing out games.

United managed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg in their Champions League encounter on Wednesday night but the Red Devils had to hold on for dear life at the end, with the German side putting the Premier League giants under intense pressure.

United managed to eventually claim the win but Smalling is not entirely pleased and has now urged his side to improve their game management at the death.

The Englishman said: "I think we made it difficult for ourselves and we could probably learn to manage and control games a little bit better in those last 10 minutes.

"If you drop 10 yards deeper you invite that pressure. We held on and we deserved the three points. Our heads could have dropped after Memphis (Depay) and (Juan) Mata had very good chances but we kept attacking."
