Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is confident his 'unique' teammate Paul Scholes is still capable of playing a role for the England national team.
Scholes, who has not played for the Three Lions since retiring from the international scene in 2004, came out of club retirement for the Red Devils in January and Smalling suggests he could step straight back into national team football.
"There are moments in the game when it is all rushed and he settles it down when he gets the ball. He has the ability to dictate.
"Come the summer there may well be calls for him to be included in the England squad and it will be because he is a player in great form and someone I'm sure any England manager would want.""He is unique," Smalling said.
