Slovenia keeper Handanovic slams Man Utd's Rooney

Slovenia goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has slammed Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney over the way he won England's penalty in Saturday's friendly.

"Cesar is not okay, he will not play on Wednesday now and will be out for 10 to 15 days," the Udinese goalkeeper said. "He is very important for us but it makes us angry about the penalty not the injury.

"Foul? It was a foul for us. In this situation the referee did not do well. He gave it because England is a bigger national team than Slovenia.

"I'm not happy. He is a good player but I did not expect this from a player from a good team with this quality."

Handanovic was also upset with Rooney's appeal to Eriksson, adding: "It was wrong for him to do this.

"It was not fair play but this is football. I don't know what we can do about it now."
