New York City FC today confirmed the signing of Slovakian forward Adam Nemec.
The 29-year old has joined the MLS expansion franchise from German 2.Bundesliga club Union Berlin where he has spent the past two-and-a-half years.
NYCFC s[porting director Claudio Reyna was thrilled to welcome Nemec to the club, indicating that he will bring something diverse to head coach Jason Kreis' line-up for the 2015 MLS season.
"Adam is a different type of striker than we have on the roster so far, which gives us a different dimension up front and options on how our forward line can play," Reyna said in a club statement.
"It's important to have players with a range of strengths and attributes. He's a strong and powerful athlete and will add a real goalscoring threat to our team."
Nemec, who scored 14 goals in 65 appearances for Union, has previously for such clubs as FC Ingolstadt, fC Kaiserslautern and MSK Zilina.
