The Foxes were thumped 4-1 at Anfield.
The Leicester Mercury says the Algeria international only arrived at his new club on Friday and did not train with his new team-mates, so he has been handed a watching brief at Anfield.
The 28-year-old will be eligible to make his debut, if selected, for Wednesday night's Champions League debut at Club Brugge.
