Islam Slimani says Riyad Mahrez was key to him joining Leicester City.

The former Sporting CP striker is already amongst the goals for his new team.

Slimani admits Algeria teammate Mahrez had a big influence on his thinking, revealing: "Obviously having Mahrez here was a decisive factor, but there was more. Riyad is a very talented player, but also a good friend, I know him well from our time in Algeria.

"I know Riyad is important, so his opinion mattered. He has helped me."
