Slick France dispose of England

Neither team had a successful World Cup but it was France who showed their class by easing past England 2-1 in a friendly at Wembley. The final whistle was greeted with boos from the Wembley crowd as France produced a slick performance to outclass a pedestrian England outfit who were made to look second best.

It was no surprise when the visitor's took the lead after 16 minutes.

A neat one-two between Benzema and Malouda allowed the former to fire between Ben Foster and post as the England defence retreated.

Even though the Three Lions improved after the break the French always carried the greater threat.

A second goal arrived just when England looked to be getting a foothold in the game.

A break down the right by Bacary Sagna allowed him to cross for Mathieu Valbuena to side foot home.

A late goal from Peter Crouch could not disguise the fact that England were comprehensively outplayed.
