Skrtel urges Liverpool board to install Dalglish full-time

Martin Skrtel wants Kenny Dalglish as the permanent manager of Liverpool Football Club.

The Slovakian defender believes that the legendary Scotsman, who took over from Roy Hodgson at the start of the New Year, is the right man to get the Anfield club back on track.

"For me, and the rest of the players, it is a great feeling to be working with Kenny Dalglish - he is a legend and an icon and I can't tell you how it inspires you," he said.

"I will try to do my best for him, and so will the rest of the players. We will try to help him as much as we can.

"He has lifted the place and there has been a change of atmosphere in the last few weeks. We have got some good results and we are looking forward with confidence now."

Skrtel and his Reds teammates are preparing for Thursday night's Europa League Round of 32 second leg against Sparta Prague at home and he knows just how vital a fixture like this is in the context of the season.

"The Europa League is important now, and we will give it everything, because success in the competition could save the season for us," he added.
