Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel faces missing the start of the season with a hamstring injury.

The defender was crocked in his side's 1-1 draw with Thailand in Bangkok.

He came on at the start of the second half but lasted less than 10 minutes before pulling up and holding the back of his right leg.

Rafa Benitez admitted: "I'm really disappointed.

"Martin has had a problem with his hamstring and a little bit with the ligaments on the knee, so we have to wait and see."
