Skoko rejects A-League return for Croatian move

The 32-year-old was recently released from his contract with English Premier League side Wigan Athletic.

According to Skoko's brother Ante, he has been offered moves to Split, Belgian outfit Genk and Turkish side Ankaraspor.

He told the Geelong Advertiser: "Hajduk Split is probably the frontrunner, he was club captain, he's got a home there and his wife is from there, so they're definitely the frontrunner.

"Things still have to be sorted out, but we reckon we'll have a deal done and he'll put pen to paper in the next week or two."

Skoko is likely to ink two-year contract, with the option of a third year.
