Rosenborg midfielder Ciljan Skjelbred has no regrets rejecting Liverpool as a teenager.

Skjelbred was offered a scholarship by Liverpool after winning a TV contest in his native Norway, but turned the Reds down.

"I could have played for Liverpool, but I chose my heart's team," he recalled. "It is an honour to wear the Rosenborg shirt as I was born in this city and love the club."
