Adelaide United's stand-in captain Lucas Pantelis is in red-hot form this season. The 28-year old winger has been deputizing for the injured Travis Dodd and the extra burden of carrying the captains armband has not weighed him down as his performances have helped last season's wooden spooners go two games clear at the top of the table.

Pantelis knows he was down on form when the Reds drew 1-1 with Brisbane Roar last weekend but turned that around to guide Adelaide to a solid 2-0 win at home over Perth Glory with a master class performance in midfield to grab his second Team of the Week selection so far.

Pantelis' teammate Sergio van Dijk also got his second call-up to the best XI thanks to his two-goal showing.
