Skacel confident he will sign new Hearts deal

Heart of Midlothian star Rudi Skacel insists he wants to stay with the club despite a bitter feud between players and owners.

The 32-year old Czech playmaker comes out of contract at the end of this month and admits he may have played his last match for the Jambos - in which he scored a hat-trick against St Mirren - but he is also confident he will get a nw deal because owner Vladimir Romanov loves him.

"My contract expires at the end of January so the game against St Mirren may have been my last at Tynecastle. As a result, there was a special atmosphere," he told the Daily Record.

"I hope I will experience it again but if it was my last game I signed off in style, didn't I?

"However, my priority is to stay with Hearts and I haven't looked for a move. "I would rather think over my future in the summer. I have no reason to leave here. I'm satisfied at Hearts and the fans love me.

"Mr Romanov has also sent word that he wants me to stay at all costs, so we will arrange a meeting and discuss the possibilities.

"I hope the hat-trick helps my negotiations a little but there is no problem from the owner's side.

"The most complicated thing about negotiations with Mr Romanov is he doesn't speak English, so we need an interpreter. He's a tough businessman but it's good that he loves me."
