Cristiano Ronaldo's sister, Elma, admits the departing Manchester United star always wanted to play for Real Madrid as a kid.
Elma told the Mirror: "He never missed school but was more interested in football. He would be home by three and then play in the basketball court until he went to bed at 9pm or 10pm.
"He never had any hobbies, was never interested in television, he just played football six hours a day, dreaming of being a footballer.
"He always wanted to play for Benfica when he was small, but later his ambition switched to Real Madrid and it has been his dream since.
"I spoke to him in Los Angeles yesterday and he didn't scream and shout, he was very relaxed and happy. As far as I know he has no other ambition in life beyond playing for Madrid.
"He told me 'I'm not injured like they say and I'll have no problem with the Real Madrid doctors'."
