Manchester United are seriously considering a bid for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler.
Bayer have confirmed Adler has a special 'Manchester United clause' in his contract should the Premier League giants come knocking.
And BILD this morning says United are now seriously weighing up a move for Adler as Schalke keeper Manuel Neuer leans towards joining Bayern Munich.
Adler is a product of the Leverkusen youth academy and has made well over 100 official appearances for the Werkself since making his debut in February 2007.
The shot stopper has also been capped at senior level for Germany.
