Sion striker Giovanni Sio is interesting Sunderland.

The Daily Mail says Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is hoping his search to find a replacement for Darren Bent will finally end with the signing of Sio.

Sio has scored six goals in 13 appearances for the Swiss side so far this season - a better record than Black Cats' top striker Nicklas Bendtner who has just two from six games.

Bruce is keen to add extra firepower up front following the departure of Asamoah Gyan to Al-Ain after his mega-money move.
