Sion have made a move for Watford midfielder Valon Behrami.

The Sun says Behrami is wanted by Swiss club Sion.

The 31-year-old is under contract with the Hornets until 2018. He has made 23 appearances this season to help Walter Mazzarri's side to 14th in the Premier League, seven points above the drop zone.

But Sion chairman Christian Constantin claims Behrami wants to return to Switzerland, and said they have been in talks with the 73-cap international for several months about a summer transfer.

Behrami started out playing football with Swiss club sides FC Stabio, FC Chiasso and FC Lugano, but joined Watford from Hamburg in 2015.

He previously spent three seasons with West Ham after a £5million move from Lazio in 2008.
