SINGLE figure turnout from Chilean fans demanding Sanchez leave Arsenal!

A protest by Chilean football fans designed to extricate Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal turned into something of a non-event… with only five people attending the 'march', reports the London Evening Standard.

A Facebook event titled 'The National March for Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal' was set up after the Gunners 5-1 humiliation at Bayern Munich in the Champions League last month.

The page had seen 14,000 users sign up to attend the march but the turnout ended up in single figures, buoyed in part by several Chilean broadcasters who had gone to the Plaza Baquedano in Santiago.

Users on the page laughed off the low turnout, insisting the event was only ever intended to be a joke. One individual has already set up a second event: 'The March to get more people to the March for Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal'.

Organisers of the event had written a damning indictment of Sanchez's team-mates, claiming that he had been left alone by Arsenal players who lacked his effort.
