Mio TV of Singapore has secured the broadcast rights to the Uefa Champions League and Europa League in Singapore for the 2012/13 season, reports SportsPro.

The agreement will see Mio TV, owned by Singaporean telecommunications company Singtel, broadcast all rounds of both competitions for free to Mio Stadium and Sports Pack customers until 31st October. The financial terms of the agreement were not released.

Singtel’s managing director of television, Goh Seow Eng, said: “We are thrilled to have scored the winning goal that makes our brand new Mio sports channels the home of the best European football in Singapore.”

He added: “The Uefa Champions League and the Europa League are some of the most popular sporting events around the world and we recognise how important these matches are to our customers.”

The agreement follows Mio TV’s announcement last week that it had acquired a host of European soccer rights for domestic competitions, including the FA Cup, Serie A from Italy and France’s Ligue 1.
