Life insurance company Great Eastern has extended co-title sponsorship of Singapore's premier league, the S-League, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The one-year renewal will see Great Eastern continue to serve as a co-sponsor with drinks and beverage company Yeo's for the 2014 season; its sixth year sponsoring the league.
The deal was said to be 'substantial' by Lim Chin, S-League's chief executive and the previous two-year renewal in 2012 was worth US$800,000.
The S-League is launching initiatives to help increase the fanbase of the league and enhance fans experiences at games. Clappers with match programmes printed on them, including previews and pictures of players, will be given out at games.
There are going to be match highlight videos available after the games and an iPhone app will be launched.
The S-League 2014 season will kick off this Friday with the Charity Shield between the defending league champions Tampines Rovers and Home United at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
