The Singapore FA are in advanced negotiations to face Robbie Fowler's North Queensland Fury in a glamour friendly. A source close to the Federation has told tribalfootball.com that a deal is almost agreed which will bring Liverpool legend Fowler and his new Australian club to Singapore for a preseason game against the national team.
Fury are coached by former Rangers captain Ian Ferguson and also could have Archie Knox, the long-time former assistant manager to Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, as part of their staff in time for the big game.
"The Fury have been looking for a big game in Asia to kickoff their preseason and our FA are very, very keen," the source told tribalfootball.com. "Having someone of Fowler's profile will be huge for fans over here and to see him in a competitive game is sure to guarantee massive interest."
