Simunic sees positives in DPMM Brunei's first loss in S-League

DPMM Brunei coach Vjeran Simunic is confident his team will return to the winners list after experiencing defeat for the first time in the S-League.

DPMM were beaten 2-0 by Home United on Sunday but despite the loss, Simunic can see some positives although he was disappointed after that match.

"At this moment, I'm upset with the 2-0 loss," said Simunic after the match.

"[This is the] first time we lost but football is like that. We had six key players not playing and Home United are one of the top three teams in Singapore."

DPMM manager Pegiran Waslimin Pengiran Momin said the club will definitely bounce back.

"We did not play badly but our defenders briefly lost their focus in the second half," he said.

"But the team's confidence is still high and we are not going to let the loss affect us."

The club is third on the S-League in their first season in the completion, taking 22 points from 11 matches so far.
