Newcastle United fullback Danny Simpson says Papiss Cisse reminds him of Andy Cole.

Simpson has paid tribute to the Senegal striker by comparing him to ex-hitman Cole who scored 68 times in 84 games for the Magpies.

Simpson said: "I can see the similarities with Andy Cole, Papiss even runs like him.

"Coley seemed to score the harder chances and so does Papiss. I'm sure he'd be proud to hear people saying he's like Andy Cole.

"He's been given the No 9 shirt and just embraced it."
