Simple Minds star Jim Kerr questions if Celtic boss Lennon could handle Everton

Simple Minds lead singer Jim Kerr has questioned whether Celtic boss Neil Lennon could handle a move to Everton.

Lennon has been linked with David Moyes' job at Goodison Park, but Hoops mad Kerr isn't so sure.

He told Absolute Radio: "I would say that when Neil first went there, because the type of player that he was I thought well he is going to cut his teeth now as management, it will take a long time. But I mean believe it or not I think he has had so much bad press but I actually, he has matured a lot in the last few years with Celtic and actually I think he has had a lot of unfair press.

"I love his passion. And I think especially in Britain that goes a long way, you know, the Fergusons and these types that you really need in the English game, and you know what it is like you still need that kind of sort of passion and he has definitely got all those sort of qualities. Again, I don't know, in the Premiership the quality is getting so high now, tactically you would question so many people because I think now there is a lot of sophistication in the Premiership and that is the only area that maybe, I don't know.

"After being used to the Scottish game that is a certain type of game it is usually Celtic playing against all of the men in the 18 yard box, you know, so it is tactically a different game up there you know."
