Steve Bruce has told goalkeeping target Simon Mignolet that Sunderland will be a top 10 club next season.
Mignolet visited Wearside on Friday for a tour of the Stadium of Light, having already made a similar trip to rival bidders PSV Eindhoven.
But the St Truiden keeper said yesterday: "Now it is for the clubs to sort things out. Only then will I move on.
"Steve Bruce made it clear that Sunderland next season are aiming for a spot in the top 10."
