Argentina international striker Tevez is a target for Inter and Manchester United, while West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson remains hopeful of convincing him to stay at Upton Park next season.

Simeone, now coach of Argentina's Estudiantes, revealed: "Tevez is No1 - he transforms a team for you. He's perfect for the Italian championship.

"I've already told him he'd enjoy working for (Inter coach) Roberto Mancini, who I know from my time with Lazio. On the pitch he has immense class and beyond that anger and hunger."
