Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone remains interested in talking with Manchester City about a summer move. The Daily Star says Simeone has shelved talks over a new contract with the La Liga champions and is taking extra English lessons with a private tutor.
Sources close to Simeone insist he is interested in the job should it become available next summer.
Liverpool are also considering the 44-year-old as a potential replacement for Brendan Rodgers, but it's the City job he wants.
Simeone is under contract until 2017 but has an escape clause which would allow him to jump ship if City make a move for him.
Pellegrini's long-term position is not safe despite him guiding his team through to the last 16 of the Champions League against the odds with their win in Rome this week.
