Chelsea are confident of tying up a £50million deal with a stunning £185,000-a-week contract for the striker.
But Atletico coach Diego Simeone has met with the directors to plead with them not to cash in on their star forward this summer, so he can carry on building a team to dominate Europe.
However, Chelsea remain confident they will get the deal done this close-season and believe Costa will be their player.
