Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has hailed the culture Sir Alex Ferguson has created at the club.

Silvestre has returned to United to train and says Ferguson values the contribution of his veteran players.

"United will always stay the same as long as Sir Alex is in charge," said Silvestre.

"The spirit in the dressing room is exactly as it was. It is still full of winners. The hunger for trophies has not changed.

"The thing with Sir Alex is that when a player arrives, he makes sure they are in a good state of mind to give their best."
