Silva remains loyal to his Spanish roots, admitting only to being taken by one English delicacy.
“Believe it or not, I love apple porridge,” Silva admits to the Telegraph. “I’d never eaten it before I came to England, so I’d say that’s my favourite thing. There are a few restaurants that I like. There is El Rincon de Rafa which is very good, and Anguillo, run by a Spanish guy called Paco in Wilmslow. That is very good. It is like being in Spain.
“But what I enjoy about Manchester the most is that I can travel around, go to the city centre and eat out and the people are very respectful. It’s quieter here and you are allowed your privacy, which I really appreciate.”
