Silva denies Watford bid for Liverpool outcast Markovic

Watford manager Marco Silva has quelled rumours that the Hornets have launched a bid for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic.

The Serbian, who played under Silva at Hull last season, has been allowed to leave the club.

Reports have suggested that the Hornets have lodged an £8m bid for the 23-year old, but the Portuguese has denied the claims.

"The truth is we haven't done anything [in terms of a bid] for Markovic," said Silva.

"He's one player who played very well with me in the last four months at Hull.

"He is not going to stay at Liverpool but at this moment he is still a Liverpool player."

The Serbia international has also been linked with a return to Hull and Fiorentina.
