Sikora eyes championship with Perth Glory

Perth Glory import Victor Sikora says he is not in Australia for a holiday, but rather to enjoy success with his club. The Dutch midfielder is keen to again taste success having not won any silverware since 2002 when he was with Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie.

Despite a slow start to the A-League season for the Glory, Sikora says all the players are still striving to win the title.

"I haven't come here for a holiday," Sikora said.

"Everybody here in this group wants to win the championship.

"I am always smiling but I'm a winner and I'll do everything necessary to pump up young players, even older players, to get the blood under their nails, as we call it in Holland," he added. "I want to get the best out of everyone."

Sikora understands that the Glory must win all of their home games if they are any chance of challenging for the finals.

"In my whole career, you have to win every game at home and (picking up) points away is a bonus," he said.

"If we put on the pressure how we did to Newcastle (on the weekend), we should be fine."
