Siena striker Massimo Maccarone is on the brink of joining Palermo.

Palermo are expected to cough up €5 million to sign the former Middlesbrough forward.

Agent Paolo Fabbri told calciomercato.com: "Tomorrow I'm going to Palermo to close the deal. If they've called me, I suppose that the agreement between the two clubs has already been found.

"I do not know if Massimo will also come, I can assure you that I've booked a flight."
