Siena admit seven of their players have been hit by swine flu.
The team saw Brandao, Michele Fini, Cristian Del Grosso, Claudio Terzi, Rossi, Michele Paolucci and Maccarone all come down with flu symptoms.
They had high temperatures, but recovered relatively quickly and are now back in training.
"It was a rapidly contagious virus with an equally fast resolution," explained Siena medical chief Andrea Causarano.
