Siena president Massimo Mezzaroma is hopeful of keeping hold of Massimo Maccarone next season.

The former Middlesbrough striker could be on the move after Siena's relegation was confirmed last week.

But Mezzaroma says: "He has a contract for two years and has a big salary for Serie B. For my part, I want him to stay because he can do many great things in Serie B. But he must be convinced and I do not think there will be big problems because in Siena he is well."
