Sidwell moves from Villa to Fulham

Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell has penned a six month deal with Fulham with the option of a permanent contract at the end of that period. The 28 year old had opted to move after finding it difficult to play regular first team football at Villa Park and at one stage looked to be heading for either Wolves or West Ham.

In fact the former Reading and Chelsea player offered his thanks to Wolves for understanding his desire to return to the capital.

"I'm delighted that my move to Fulham has been finalised, and I'm looking forward to training with the squad and help the club make steady progress up the table in the second half of the season," Sidwell told the club's official website.

"I'd also like to thank Jez Moxley, and Mick McCarthy in particular, at Wolverhampton Wanderers for being so understanding in my desire to return to London and to play for Fulham."
