Steve Sidwell has hailed Aston Villa's capture of former Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey.

He told AVTV: "Emile is a great signing. It's been well-documented that we've been after him and it's fantastic news that we've completed the move.

"In my opinion, it shows the ambition of the club because he's a big name. I am sure he will be a great addition to the squad.

"He has great experience and will bring a lot to the team.

"With him up top, players like myself can feed off him and also if you get service up to him, he will score you goals."
