Shrewsbury Town boss Micky Mellon insists they can upset FA Cup opponents Manchester United.

Mellon's Shrewsbury tackle United in the FA Cup on Monday night with defeat at the League One side likely to prove one humiliation too many for United's owners.

His son has been at United's academy since he was four but has been forced to switch his allegiance for the time being.

“He will be supporting his dad because his mother has told him," said Mellon.

“He needs to know where his bread is buttered and it is still getting buttered at our house. He is on a sticky wicket if he doesn't.

“He has been at the club since he was four and they have totally brainwashed him into being everything United."
