Nicky Shorey says talks with Reading are continuing over a new contract.

"I'm still having talks with Reading and just seeing how that goes," Shorey told Sky Sports News. "Obviously when January gets nearer there's going to be a lot more speculation. I don't think just about me, but about a lot of players, even at Reading. We will wait and see what happens.

"You want to test yourself at the best, everyone does. If a top-four team comes in and says 'we want you' you'd be lying if you said you didn't want to go.

"But while I'm at Reading I will always give my best. I've enjoyed it here for a long time and I will enjoy it in the future.

"I'm trying to get a contract sorted here and we'll see where that takes us."
