Barcelona have pulled back from new contract talks with Lionel Messi.
Sport says plans to discuss new terms have now been put back by Barca management.
It's suggested meetings have been postponed after statements from directors Oscar Grau and Pere Gratacós, who both questioned Messi and the club's ability to meet his demands.
Barca's board do not want to give the impression that it acts in a reactive way, pushed by critics or the headlines of the press.
For the moment, the club fears any offer could be 'misinterpreted' as a way to put out a fire - and so have sought to reschedule talks with Messi's camp.
