Shimizu S-Pulse continue J-League dominance

Shimizu S-Pulse have continued on their merry way in Japan's J-League, notching their fourth win in six matches.

Their 5-1 home win over Vegalta Sendai enabled them to be the only undefeated side in the competition with four wins and two draws and has them placed nicely at the top of the table.

Five single goalscorers did the damage for Shimizu who maintained their one-point lead over Urawa Reds who recorded a vital 2-0 win away from home against Albirex Niigata thanks to a double from Japan international Yuki Abe.

Elsewhere in the J-League, Australian international Josh Kennedy scored his fourth goal of the season as Nagoya Grampus won 2-0 at Kyoto Sanga, Gamba Osaka were led by a Shoki Hirai double to edge out Omiya Ardija 3-1, Kawasaki Frontale remained in third with a 3-0 away win over Sanfrecce Hiroshima as Montedio Yamagata won 2-0 at Vissel Kobe.

Kashima Antlers and FC Tokyo had a 1-1 draw in the country's capital whilst Shonan Bellmare and Jubilo Iwata as well as Yokohama Marinos and Cerezo Osaka both had scoreless draws.
