Dean Shiels has signed with Kilmarnock until the end of the season after severing ties with Doncaster Rovers.
The 26-year old midfielder joined Killie on loan in the summer and was due to return to Keepmoat Stadium but has terminated his contract with Rovers and will remain at Rugby Park for the remainder of the season to continue playing under father Kenny.
"He has taken a massive hit financially and he feels there is unfinished work here.""Dean has signed until the end of the season," said Shiels Snr.
Shiels also said that Chelsea full-back Ben Gordon was on the verge of returning to Kilmarnock following his loan spell last season.
"Ben Gordon, who played for us last season and did so well, has agreed too and he will come up for the rest of the season," he added.
