Shevchenko urges AC Milan to stay united

Andriy Shevchenko has urged AC Milan to stay united after their dismal 2-0 defeat at Genoa.

"This defeat weighs on the players. It is a difficult moment and we must try to stick together, trying to find a victory so we can get back on track," said the Ukrainian.

"It's tricky to say what we are missing at the moment, but it just seems to be a bad time for us."

Former Chelsea flop Shevchenko started the match alongside fellow Ballon d'Or winners Kaka and Ronaldinho, but was substituted at half-time along with the ex-Barcelona star.

"I tried to find space so I could free up my teammates, but the Genoa players did well to close them all down," continued Sheva.

The pressure is now piling on Carlo Ancelotti, with the shadow of Roberto Donadoni and Frank Rijkaard hanging over him.

"After the final whistle, the Coach told us to stay united and find a win as soon as possible. He is the one who makes the decisions and, if I play, I will always try to give my best."
