Andriy Shevchenko was delighted with his winner for AC Milan in last night's 1-0 UEFA Cup victory at FC Zurich.

The win sees Milan progress to the group stage and on-loan Chelsea striker Shevchenko said: "I'm pleased with having unlocked their defence and I thank the team who helped me.

"In this team there are so many talented and important players, we're good and now improving.

"My companions have always encouraged me and I thank them for their support, I'm working to improve and won't give up."
