Chelsea will hang onto striker Andriy Shevchenko this season.

The Observer says Nicolas Anelka's £15million arrival at Chelsea will not force Shevchenko to move from Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

"He will stay until the summer," said a friend of the Ukraine striker. "But after that, who knows?"
