Avram Grant's continued snubbing of Andriy Shevchenko cost him his Chelsea job, it has been claimed.

Dinamo Kiev president Igor Surkis, who claims to speak to his former star striker on the phone every day, said: "Everyone wanted to see Andriy playing in Moscow and it was very unwise of Grant not to give him a chance. It was one of the reasons the manager was sacked."
