Dynamo Kiev striker Andriy Shevchenko was gutted after their defeat to Champions League opponents Inter Milan.
Sheva struck for Dynamo, but saw Inter clinch victory in injury-time through Wesley Sneijder.
He said: “I think we paid the price for a lack of experience. After a fantastic first half we could’ve controlled the tempo more, but we have many young players who didn’t know how to handle the situation.
“Knowing [Jose] Mourinho well, he really went for it and risked everything by putting more forwards on the field. We could’ve done better on the counter-attack.
“Everything is still to play for and if we can approach these remaining two games the way we did the first half tonight, then Dynamo can have their say.”
