Andriy Shevchenko says Carlo Ancelotti will win the Champions League for Chelsea.

Sheva told the Sunday Mirror: "Carlo has won as many European Cups as Sir Alex Ferguson and when you consider he has only been managing at European Cup level for 10 years that is quite amazing. In the time he has been at Milan he has been in three finals and won two, that means on average he reaches the final more than once every three years. That is why Chelsea wanted him so much."

Shevchenko added: "Roman Abramovich made it clear from the moment he took over at Chelsea that the European Cup was his main target, and I don't blame him because it is the biggest prize in club football.

"With the money Chelsea have they could have got most managers in the world, but they got the right one to win them the European Cup. If Carlo is given time I am sure he will finally give Roman and the fans what they want.

"No matter how good a manager you are, if you have never played in a European Cup Final you don't know what that feeling in your stomach is like before you walk out.

"Carlo does, and I think that's what sets him apart."
