Sherwood offers Aston Villa relegation advice

Tim Sherwood believes Aston Villa can still beat the drop.

This season Villa have 12 points from 25 games and are bottom of the pile 10 points adrift of safety, but Sherwood believes all is not lost.

"When I left the football club they weren't bottom of the league and we were four points from safety," Sherwood told talkSPORT.

"It doesn't look good at the minute, but they have to believe they can put a run together.

"Back to back wins are crucial and if they can do that I think they'll be able to drag some teams in who are above them at the moment.

"There's still enough games there. When I left the club there were only 10 games gone and there were 28 games to go .

"You would think anyone who was taking that job on would believe that they could keep the team in the league with 28 games left.

"Last season I went in with 13 games left and managed to reach our objective to keep them in the league and took them to a cup final, which was a good achievement."
